The assigned unit, driver and collection window are confirmed. The movement is tracked and exceptions are escalated while they can still be managed.
Delivery & PoD
Site handover is recorded. Signed proof of delivery and supporting documents are returned to the nominated contact.

What turnaround can I expect from Durban port?
Turnaround depends on release status, terminal conditions, booking windows, stack dates, traffic and consignee readiness. We confirm the planned collection window and advise quickly if port conditions change.
How do you manage demurrage and detention risk?
We work from confirmed release information, terminal bookings and free-day cut-offs supplied by the customer or nominated agent. Delays outside our control are documented and escalated. Commercial responsibility remains subject to the accepted quotation and terms.
Is cargo insured in transit?
Yes. Goods-in-transit insurance is in place, subject to the policy terms, exclusions and declared cargo value. High-value or specialised cargo must be declared before quoting.
Do you collect after hours or on weekends?
After-hours and weekend work can be planned where terminals, depots and delivery sites permit it. Availability, access arrangements and any additional charges are confirmed in the quote.
What information is needed for a quote?
Collection and delivery locations, cargo description, packaging, mass, dimensions, service type, required date and any terminal, container or permit references. Photographs or packing lists help for irregular cargo.
Can you move both 20ft and 40ft containers?
Yes. Dutch Trucking provides 20ft and 40ft FCL container movements using appropriate skeletal trailer configurations. Confirm the container size, gross mass, release status and collection terminal when requesting a rate.
How are movement updates provided?
Vehicle telematics supports movement visibility. Collection, transit exceptions and delivery milestones are communicated to the nominated operational contact while the customer tracking portal is being developed.
Which areas do you serve?
Dutch Trucking serves all nine South African provinces, all major ports and principal inland terminals. Cross-border transport is not offered.
How will I receive proof of delivery?
A signed PoD and available supporting handover documents are sent to the nominated contact after delivery and document capture.
