Privacy & POPIA
Privacy notice.
How Dutch Trucking collects and uses information submitted through this website and related freight enquiries.
1. Responsible party
Dutch Trucking is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website. For privacy enquiries, email info@dutchtrucking.co.za.
2. Information we collect
We may collect names, company details, email addresses, telephone numbers, collection and delivery details, freight information, messages, documents and other information voluntarily supplied in an enquiry. Freight details should not include unnecessary personal information.
3. Why we process it
We process information to respond to enquiries, prepare and manage quotations, plan and perform transport services, communicate movement updates, verify instructions, maintain commercial and compliance records, manage accounts and disputes, and meet legal obligations.
4. Legal basis and minimisation
Information is processed where necessary to take steps at your request, perform or administer a contract, comply with law, protect legitimate operational interests, or where consent is appropriate. We aim to collect only information reasonably required for the stated purpose.
5. Sharing
Information may be shared with authorised employees, drivers, contracted carriers, terminals, depots, shipping or forwarding parties, insurers, professional advisers, technology providers and authorities where needed for the movement, our legal obligations or protection of rights. Recipients should receive only what they need for their role.
6. Security
Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No internet or email transmission is completely secure; operationally sensitive information should be sent through an agreed secure channel where required.
7. Retention
Enquiry and service records are generally retained for two years, or longer where required by law, insurance, tax, contractual or dispute-resolution needs. Information is securely deleted or de-identified when no longer required.
8. Your rights
Subject to POPIA and applicable limitations, you may request access to personal information held about you, correction or deletion of inaccurate or unnecessary information, objection to certain processing, or information about relevant recipients. Use the contact details in section 1 to make a request.
9. Cookies and browser storage
This website uses essential browser storage to remember that the privacy notice has been acknowledged and, when you use the quote form, to keep an unfinished draft on your device. Draft details remain in your browser until you use Clear form or delete this site’s browser data. Reviewing, copying or downloading a request does not send it to Dutch Trucking or delete the local draft. Open email draft passes the request to your email app; you review and send it there. Article photographs are served by this website. No site analytics or advertising scripts are active. Road & Load offers optional YouTube videos. Original video thumbnails may load from YouTube’s image service when you view a video card, which shares device and network information with that provider. No YouTube player is loaded until you choose to play a video. The player then connects to YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode; Google/YouTube may receive device and network information, use cookies, and display advertising under its own policies. You can instead open the original video link on YouTube.
10. Complaints
Please raise a privacy concern with Dutch Trucking first so it can be investigated. You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator using its current official channels.
11. Updates
This notice will be updated when processing activities, service providers, cookies, contact details or legal requirements change. Last reviewed: 12 September 2026.
